Basil!!!!
Over the last few years I've worked very hard to landscape our new home yard. I've done everything in our yard! Grass from seed, rock walls, irragation system, trees, flowers, etc. This years big project was landscaping the back hill and putting in a garden. One of the things Amber requested was some herbs in the garden. I obligied. Recently I've mentioned to her that she needed to start using some of the herbs in the garden before they went bad. I discovered yesterday a new store bought package of fresh basil in the fridge yesterday. I believe they cost about $3 each. I guess the basil "tree" in the backyard that is now going to seed didn't clue her in.

Do you remember that one time (i.e. yesterday) I was making some tasty basil marinade for some grilled chicken (you know the grill that ran out of gas yesterday) and asked you to go pick some basil for me from the garden? And you refused??!!!
I bet that was right after you (hubby) put the clothes in the dryer but didn't turn it on! hee hee
I think it is wonderful that you planted the garden. Amber should be grateful. Jade attempted to plant seed and now that it has died, I am to blame. It is nice to see the other side of the crazy canuck stories. I think Amber is becoming a little more like her mother....forgetting facts and adding a couple lies here and there ;)
I'm so glad you started a blog - now I can see the "other" side of the story. I've enjoyed reading Amber's blogs for months now. Have a great time setting the story straight for all of us :)
Oh, I am going to love this! I've added you to my del.icio.us listing along beside Amber. Now I am going to have to explain why I am laughing so hard at like 4 am.
Welcome to my Home
This Is Me...like it or not.
AMBER! How could you by STORE BOUGHT basil when its growing FREEly in your garden?!?!? Tsk, tsk. Could it be that you couldn't possibly bend over in your pregnant state? :o)
LOVE THIS other side of the story thing you guys have going on here.
Several years ago the serf had some basil "trees" also. Three different types to choose from, but not one single leaf was used fresh by the Queen. Before frost came, the basil trees were harvested, after which the leaves were carefully washed, slowly dried in the oven, ground and put in pint mason jars.
Five years later, the pint mason jars still sit proudly on the shelf as a testimony of the serf’s hard labor in the herb garden, while the Queen merrily uses store bought basil.
Oooooh, this is going to be fun! The battle of the sexes never gets old. Hope Amber isn't jealous when you get popular faster than she did. It's all her fault, after all. We already know you.

These dueling blogs are going to be great for evidence in divorce court! :)
